Assignments
1. Adding data to the spreadsheet
Fill in the cells representing the time slots with:
- Your UT timetable information (activity name, course code).
- Personal time spending habits, for example:
- Sleeping
- Commuting
- Grooming
- Eating
- Studying
- Sports, Gym
- Leisure
- Family
- Chores
- Studying
2. Calculating summary statistics
- List the activities in a column entitled “Activities” at the righthand side of the table.
- Use functions to determine:
- The total time you spend per activity.
- The total time you spend at the university.
- The most time-consuming activity.
3. Creating a chart
- Create a pie chart of time spent per activity (group all university activities as a single activity entitled “University”).
4. Formatting
- Use conditional formatting to highlight in gray all the cells featuring activities that belong to the UT timetable.
- Remove the first two rows.
- Freeze the first column (with the times) and the top row (with the days of the week).
5. Exporting
- Export the timetable table as
.PDFand.CSV. - Export the pie chart as
.SVGand.PNG.
Submission
Upload the .XLSX, .PDF, .CSV, .SVG and .PNG files on Canvas. All files should be entitled: excel_exercise_<STUDENT_LAST_NAME>_<STUDENT_FIRST_NAME>_<STUDENT_NUMBER>. For example: excel_exercise_bond_james_000007.
